Morpheus8 is a highly effective treatment that targets the deepest layer of the skin, resulting in noticeable skin tightening, resurfacing, and anti-aging effects.
Following the treatment, it is crucial to adhere to the provided aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth and successful recovery. The pre-treatment guide serves as a valuable resource to prepare your skin for the procedure.
Cease taking NSAIDs (non-steroidal inflammatory drugs) such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen two weeks prior to the treatment. These medications can interfere with normal blood clotting.
- Additionally, refrain from taking vitamin E, ginseng, and fish oil supplements to minimize the risk of bruising and swelling.
- Discontinue using retinol, salicylic acids, tretinoins, and other topical products containing “active” ingredients.
- Refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol.
Immediately following the treatment, you may experience a moderate sunburn, characterized by a pink or reddish hue (erythema) and a warm, tighter sensation in the treated area.
By following these aftercare instructions diligently, you can maximize the benefits of your Morpheus8 treatment and minimize the risk of complications.
Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Perform this cleansing at least two to three hours after the procedure or before retiring for the night. Refrain from scrubbing your face, exfoliating, or picking at the skin. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel.
If a topical balm was prescribed by your dermatologist, apply it at this time. Additionally, ensure the use of clean pillowcases, sheets, and blankets to prevent the spread of infections.
Continue your regular skincare routine by using a gentle cleanser and the recommended moisturizer. It is advisable to avoid makeup, retinol, and other products containing harsh ingredients. You may resume using your usual skincare products after two to three days. Retinols can be reintroduced five to seven days after the treatment. Always remember to wash your hands before touching your face.
Furthermore, limit sun exposure to minimize the risk of developing hyperpigmentation. While bathing is not restricted, avoid scrubbing or causing trauma to the treated areas.
You may begin using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30, preferably containing zinc or titanium dioxide. However, avoid chemical sunscreens formulated with octisalate, oxybenzone, homosalate, avobenzone, or similar ingredients.
Continue to refrain from activities that expose you to the sun, such as swimming and tanning beds. Additionally, avoid hot tubs, saunas, gyms, and other activities that induce perspiration, as they may exacerbate adverse reactions.
To ensure optimal healing and minimize the risk of swelling or bruising, avoid:
You may begin wearing makeup 48 hours after the treatment.
You can resume your regular skin care regimen. We recommend utilizing retinol products at this stage to enhance the efficacy of the treatment.
Morpheus8 aftercare also includes a follow-up consultation with your dermatologist. Please remember to schedule your appointment with your provider three to five weeks after the treatment.
